Mobilizing Activists and Students for Hemp
Hempfest Flyer Controversy
M.A.S.H. is a Registered Student Organization at Illinois State University and is therefore permitted to post flyers in the Residence Halls.
In November, 2003, the group attempted to post flyers promoting their upcoming "Hempfest" and were denied based on the content of the flyer. They appealed to the Director of Housing and were denied again.
At this point, the group is working to educate the university community on the constitutional responsibilities of a state institution of higher education regarding the free speech rights of students.
