There's a ton of resources out there from free software for your computer to information on how to set up your own web page. There are too many to list here, so I'm only including a few important ones in my mind. If you need more, simply do a search, or go to Yahoo's Computing Section.

Companies and Products
- Web Monkey -- This site, by HotWired, gives some good tutorials and links, has search capabilities, and also has information on more advanced areas, plus information on web editors.
- D.J. Quad's Ultimate HTML Site -- a large site with tutorials on a wide variety of topics, quick tricks, etc.
- The Compendium of HTML Elements -- for the HTML fanatic or historian. Includes a description of every HTML code ever used, contemplated, or forgotten. Not particularly useful for finding the code you need in most cases, because you have to get through all the obscure stuff (unless what you need is obscure!)
- Introduction to HTML -- this is a better all-purpose listing of html elements in use and descriptions. Dry, but useful. Well-organized, good descriptions.
- The Black Stump Web Development Page -- Australian site (slow to load, but worth it) with tons of links to tutorials, FAQs, etc. on web development, organized by topic. The place to go to find out where to find out how to do something.
- Web Review -- an online web developer's weekly magazine, complete with tutorials ranging from the basic to very advanced.
- Bare Bones Software -- makers of BBEdit, the best Mac web editor. Also available there is BBEdit Lite for free download, which is a fully functional program (not a demo). The full version has more features, but Lite works quite well.
- Allaire Corp. -- makers of Homesite for Windows, which I've heard is a very good web editor for Windows machines. Not free, but costs only about $79.
- Apple Computer - support information, software information, links and more.
- Apple's Quicktime - includes Quicktime VR for web pages.
- Adobe - a must if you're involved in desktop publishing or imaging.
- RealNetworks - home site for ReadAudio, RealVideo and RealFlash, which add capabilities to web pages.
Other Computing Resources
- CNET Shareware - a huge resource for freeware and shareware, lets you search for the kind of software you're looking for, gives you a list with descriptions and then gives you several alternate sites to download it from.
